Tilta is a quality manufacturer, and with the full kit that was available from Chinese sellers on Amazon at the time, the Tilta priced out to be more or less the same as the equivalent SmallRig… rig.
After doing a bit of research, I initially went with the Tilta over SmallRig, for 2 main reasons: the SSD mount seemed to beat SmallRig’s for location options, and the right side of the full Tilta cage seemed to have better mounting options (plus Tilta seemed like a higher-end company to be honest).īut ultimately after also getting the SmallRig and comparing both, I returned the Tilta in favor of the SmallRig cage.
In an effort to figure out which option was best, I somewhat unintentionally got both the BMPCC4K Tilta full cage, and the SmallRig full cage - with top handle, SSD mounts, and accessories for both.
